shouldn't should
I've been trying to erase from my mind the awareness of the concept of should. The word 'should' represents a vicious circle to me; one of constant struggle and effort to do what we 'should' do.
It's just a word, you know, the word, should. It doesn't have some special significance that's programmed into our DNA sequence or anything. It's just a concept to which we've attached certain linguistic and emotional meaning. If you didn't say the word 'should' today, you would still be here at the end of the day and you'd still be living your life as you normally do.
Not everyone may be ready to stop the asking. But it sure makes life cleaner for me. To put it simply, I don't walk around all day long with questions in my head. The questions arise, yes, but I don't pick them up and play with them. I just observe that they're there, I make a note of them if they're pertinent to the task at hand (which they seldom are) and I keep walking.
I think you can live your whole life like that if you want to. Only occasionally will you stand out as someone who is different. Especially if you spend time with similarly peaceful people.
