more thoughts on enlightenment
Oct. 19th, 2002 04:01 pmthis current phase is only temporary (as all phases are temporary)
enlightenment = not attaching too much importance (i.e. emotional significance) to any given phase in life
attaining enlightenment = maintaining awareness:
objective awareness of your own seeing
awareness of awareness itself
who's observing the observing?
nobody.
nothing observes the observer
before the observer, is only a void
void
not a place devoid of objects
nor a mind devoid of thoughts
void = nothing
just nothing at all
relevance to daily life?
the daily life is not real, so to start with, there's nothing much to worry about [when looking at the unreal]
but having said that, the only relevance might be with respect to the quality of the physical state of mind in which you currently reside...
...for one's demeanour [as an extension of one's state of mind] generally becomes quite peaceful when the enlightened disposition is maintained
