Trying to get the baby to go to sleep on her own. Put her down a few minutes ago without putting her fully to sleep in my arms first, and she got really ticked off. I keep going back in there to soothe her, replace her soother, etc., and as soon as I leave, she freaks. The last time seemed to work, though -- she's quiet now.

Started writing down exactly what I'm eating each day, à la Weight Watchers. It's a good practice in food mindfulness. Tonight is the Christmas Ball for B's department, so I want to be careful about what I eat there, too. I came up with a great recipe for a low-carb protein shake this morning, too -- 1/2 c of cream, 1 c water, 1/4 c whey powder, 3 tbsp flax seed meal (that's 12 g of fibre), 1 tbsp cocoa, 1/2 c blueberries, 1/2 tsp vanilla, pinch of stevia. The stevia and the vanilla make the chocolate flavour bloom, and the blueberries and flax seed meal make the texture smooth with a nutty character.

It snowed a bunch this morning and now the sun is out. Beautiful day, and as soon as Z wakes up, I'm going to take her for a walk in the forest with the boys. Should be fun.

Off to do a few rounds of japa.
