From the Spiritual Chicks website, an open letter to the President from author Robert Rabbin. He's presenting an extremely compassionate position towards Dubya which to my eyes reads almost facetiously. But there are some good thoughts in there:

Boy, I'm really sensing an increasing groundswell of opposition to this war. I wonder how this is all going to play out. I still don't doubt that the US is going to invade Iraq, but perhaps there will be quite overt international dissent about it. Our own Prime Minister reiterated last week that Canada would participate only in the event of a second UN resolution passed by the security council, but it seems possible that such a resolution may not pass.

I also hear at least 2-3 stories on every CBC newscast about dissenting opinions on the war, and Tony Blair's recent motion in the British parliament has made big news, inasmuch as several members of his own Labour party voted against him on the motion. The fact that a quarter-million people demonstrated against the war in London two weeks ago also made quite a statement. One very positive outcome of this war may very well be that it will wake a lot of people up to their need to practice their ideals more actively, starting perhaps with going to the goddamned POLLS in the next presidential election...
