I've been feeling more at peace lately. I may have said that in here recently, but it's worth noting again. I've been contemplating this summer what it means to be a mature adult, and I've found that the more I allow what I believe those qualities to be to permeate my thinking, my mind has become progressively more peaceful.

I think it has mostly to do with further gaining of perspective. Having a better appreciation of who you really are and how you fit into your world can be enlightening, empowering, and even peace-infusing.

I often feel like I'm on the brink of some kind of important discovery or personal breakthrough. Sometimes I just try to meditate on that kind of self-expansion to evoke or engender that quality in itself. Intuitively, I sense that it might push my my own limits outward.

The thing about this life is that the possibilities quite literally endless. That should be true for all of humankind, but I must admit that I am in a physically fortunate position which places no physical or economic boundaries on me, either.

That's partly why I find it so important to reside in God-awareness at every moment. There's no shortage of worldly experiences, attainments, or achievements available for the taking; the real challenge is working "towards" anything while continuing to remain abundantly AWARE.

Awareness itself is fascinating to contemplate. I like Ramana's description - it's the only thing that really IS at all - because you can actually observe that fact without a lot of effort in your daily life. Just looking around a room, listening to music, watching the sky - you can do all of that with or without awareness, but it all feels more REAL when you do it with awareness. (I don't mean that to be any kind of abstract expression, either - I can feel a literal difference between living in those two "states.")

Balance.
