"Read, read, read. Read everything - trash, classics, good and bad, and see how they do it. Just like a carpenter who works as an apprentice and studies the master. Read! You'll absorb it. Then write. If it is good, you'll find out. If it's not, throw it out the window."

--William Faulkner
My thoughts exactly. It works the same way with music. I get tons of inspiration from reading good fiction before I start a writing project. I've been reading lots over the holiday too, and am psyched up to resume my writing work this week. B's back at work tomorrow, so I can begin as soon as then! I think I have a good idea about how to revamp my mystery story from before Christmas, and I'm eager to try it out to see how well it works.
