The Vatican rejects intelligent design

Wow, I can't believe the Vatican has come out so strongly against the Christian fundamentalists. I mean, I can believe it, but still... vyoma would be proud, if he were online and strolling the Earth right now, which for some reason, I suspect he must not be. Where the hell is that guy???

The Vatican has issued a stout defence of Charles Darwin, voicing strong criticism of Christian fundamentalists who reject his theory of evolution and interpret the biblical account of creation literally.

A Google search on 'vatican intelligent design' also pulls up a bunch more articles about this.

Update: The eminently wise Pat Robertson just went ga-ga over the intelligent design thing, and on a comment elsewhere, a link to this great T-shirt was posted with a quote attributed to Patty: Feminism encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians. I thought that 'killing their children' and 'destroying capitalism' were nice touches, there.

This is too funny, because I know two interracial couples who fit these books exactly. First, for the couple comprised of an Asian man and Caucasian woman, How To Date A White Woman: A Practical Guide for Asian Men. And second, for the couple comprised of a Caucasian man and an Asian woman (the wife playfully teases her husband that he had yellow fever when he pursued her), How To Attract Asian Women.

I really can't believe these books have been written. The reviews are also hilarious.

P.S.: The Asian guy in the aforementioned couples came back to me later with two great hits for me: this book and that one, both on the topic of internet addicts and how to help them. I had to admit touché. :)
