iamomSo like, dudes, I left my job last week. The stress created by a newly-arrived boss proved too much for me to bear, and when an opportunity presented itself for me to leave the company, I took it, after only a day's deliberation. Today was my first real day "off" without any other obligations (such as our taxes), and I had a really great day.
B's in Ottawa this week, doing her oral exam to be admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), a pre-requisite for formal practice, which is slated to begin for her on July 1st this year. It's a long, stressful exam, and she has been preparing for it for many months. Over a year's worth of hard studying will be finished for her by this time tomorrow night.
Z has been delightful, and turns two next Sunday, on Mother's Day. We're planning a party for her with friends and family. All else unfolds naturally as it should, and leaving that job already feels like the nicest gift I've given to myself in months. I feel wonderful and light, as though a weight has been lifted from my shoulders and a darkness has been dispersed from my mind.
