unfolding, naturally
May. 13th, 2001 11:56 amFoggy and cool today - feels lovely in the nose during each breath - cool, moist air, smelling concurrently of earth and the sea.
I found out on Friday that my boss has cancer. I don't know any details, but he has been sick for weeks. Cancer. Most of us know someone who has died from cancer. My best friend's wife died from cancer, and others. Many of us probably also know someone who has been diagnosed, but who is still living in relative good health. I hope his cancer is a treatable kind and that he recovers soon. I also hope that he takes some time off work and has a good rest while recovering. I hope his colleagues will help him to do that this week. Unfortunately, there's not much I can do from here for him except to keep the operation here running without his support.
That, and some conversations with a new friend I met last week here, were among the only things that brought me back down to earth this week. Apart from that, I've just been observing from beyond, watching everything unfold, naturally.
from one breath to the next
