iamomI had a great discussion with my mom this morning about our favourite yoga postures. I told her about some of the stuff I've been working on, and asked her for some advice about what to do next in certain areas. She made some great suggestions and also imparted some of the techniques she uses to teach these concepts in her own classes. It's fun to go to your elders and learn from their experience. It expands the interest in a family relationship, also.
There's a beautiful sunset again tonight, and the air around the house is starting to turn red-orange. I have 8 fresh garden tomatoes sitting peeled, seeded and chopped in a bowl on the counter with chopped fresh basil leaves, garlic, pepper, and a drizzle of olive oil. Wasn't sure if I should add salt. After a couple hours on the counter, I'll sauté the mixture gently with some onions softened with butter and toss it with fresh parmesan and rotini.
I think I'll dig into my psych reading tonight - first test is this coming Friday - and maybe hit the sack early. I've kept the place pretty clean, so I won't need to spend hours doing it before B gets come Thursday night. I've found that in order to keep the house acceptably clean, I need to do about 20 minutes per day of maintenance and 2 hours of chores once a week.![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
fey, I don't think I'd have it in me to clean several other people's places each week though, so I admire your ability to do so, even if you do make a good buck.
Also made good conceptual headway with a new marketing project at work, after a productive face-to-face with one of my other local colleagues. We managed to articulate an action plan that moves forward many of our own agenda items along with the corporation's. That's a good thing. Artful compromise, in which neither party feels compromised. I've always felt closely attuned to the win-win situation as a basis for a corporate philosophy.
Blessings, are these chores of life that keep me planted in the ground of being. It's not the intense meditation that brings me here; rather, it's everything all woven into the one without a second.
