So, what would happen if instead of waging war against Saddam Hussein, we conducted a massive humanitarian project in Iraq that eradicated poverty and hunger? What kind of objective would that achieve? What would the outcome be?

Better yet, what if we didn't even leave our shores and conducted such an effort internally? What would the outcome be for that? Could it decrease the likelihood of further attacks and violence?

I wonder what would happen if Israel did some really nice things for the Palestinians instead of bombing them to kingdom come, too. I bet the effect would be positive.
