75 billion dollars, huh?
Mar. 26th, 2003 12:09 pmA CBC commentator and former army Colonel said yesterday that Bush's supplemental request is for another 30 days of war. That's well in excess of A BILLION DOLLARS A DAY. If it goes longer than that, it will cost more. He also said that Bush's estimates for what money will be required post-war are wayyyy under what will likely be required in reality (reality: a state that George Bush refuses to live in).
Why doesn't someone in the government speak up and say, "We don't want this war 'cuz it's gonna COST too bloody much!" I mean really, do you guys want to blow that much coin on this bullshit? Why don't you end homelessless instead or something? Christ, it'd be more useful to invest that into failing small businesses or something who are teetering on the edge of bankruptcy due the the recession (which is only gonna get worse as the war continues).
Bad for foreign relations, bad for diplomacy, bad for the economy, bad for Iraqi citizens, bad for the soldiers (who are getting killed by their own weapons), bad for everyone except the defense contractors who are supplying the cruise missiles at $1M a pop.
GIMME A BREAK!!!!
