This week's marathon
Apr. 22nd, 2003 09:28 pmKenyan-born marathoner Robert Cheruiyot won the 107th Boston Marathon this week, clocking in a time of 2:10:11 for the 42-km distance. That's an average running speed of about 20 kph; 13 mph; or an even 5-minute mile for 26 miles. I think that's bloody amazing. The world record is currently held by Moroccan-born Khalid Khannouchi at 2:05:38. The women's record is held by a Brit named Paula Radcliffe at 2:15:25 -- not much slower, really.

One day, one day. I'll start with my little triathlon first, though.
