For most people, the same karmic pattern is repeated in the same way throughout their lives. Why is that? There's an easy one-word answer: habit. We get used to a certain way of doing things. We do the same thing everyday. Habit becomes karma, and karma becomes habit, simply because it's comfortable.

Those patterns are the basis for the probability amplitudes of what's going to happen in your life. Your habits and your conditioned karmic behaviors, define the statistical likelihood for what's going to take place. For most people, the statistical likelihood is that today is going to be the same as yesterday, and tomorrow is going to be the same as today. As long as that's true, there's really no chance for growth - no chance for evolution into higher states of consciousness. In order to move to the next step you have to change the probability amplitude, which means you have to get out of the repetitious pattern. That can be difficult, but it's certainly not impossible. Once in a while a clue is provided just to help you break out of the repetitive pattern. Actually, clue isn't really the right word. It's more than just a clue. It's an omen.

Once in awhile, in everyone's life, something happens that is actually not part of the statistical probability amplitude. That's what I mean by an omen. When an omen appears, it's up to you to give it meaning. Inherently, nothing has meaning. We give it meaning. Inherently, the brain is just converting one form of energy to another, so it's up to you to give it meaning. What meaning you give it, or whether you are able to give it any meaning at all, depends on the state of your consciousness at that particular moment.

The meaning is in your desire, hopes, and fears. Maybe there's no meaning at all, if you're not able to assign one. If a woman has a boyfriend in Idaho and she sees an Idaho license plate, maybe it means she should call her boyfriend on the phone immediately. Maybe it means that she should never call him again. I cannot know because the meaning has to come from her, based on her karma. What I can tell someone like that is that it seems like a clue is being provided because the likelihood of seeing Idaho wherever you go is not really in line with the probability amplitude of how the world works. An omen is being placed before her consciousness, but it's up to her to recognize it. It is up to her to attach meaning to it.
