hip joints
Jan. 17th, 2002 08:48 amEvery few weeks or so, B and I drive a short distance to the neighbouring community of Timberlea to a particular butcher who keeps aside beef hip joints in his freezer. They're each about 6-8 inches long, and they're often covered with lots of sinewy flesh and stuff. We get them for the dogs, and I just gave one to each of them a few minutes ago. They're lying in the snow in the backyard now, each gnawing in utter content on these huge bones. It makes me feel good to see them so happy. I can only imagine what I'll be like with kids in this regard.
Of course, I'll probably have to think up some different rewards and activities for our kids other than giving them a big bone to chew on...
